Milan—host city of the 2015 World Expo, a global exhibition.
Milan—the host city of EMO 2015, the world’s largest and most important trade fair for machine tools and cutting tools, the heart of the manufacturing industry.
Is there a better place than here to showcase the new face of one of the industry’s leading PVD companies?
We don’t think so.
Over the past few years, PVT has made significant progress in the following areas through the development of PDA* and HiParc** technologies:
- Quality of Functional Tool Coatings
- Increased the productivity of coating equipment.
- The coating process time has been shortened.
- Extremely high target utilization rate
These technological advancements necessitated the development of an entirely new piece of equipment that integrates these comprehensive features: a combination of internal technological improvements and a completely redesigned exterior, characterized by sharp, angular lines and cutting-edge aesthetics—qualities that, even three decades later, continue to underscore the company’s enduring dynamism in PVD technology.
However, technological development is an ongoing process, and work on the new exterior design began immediately after the EMO 2013 trade fair. Once the initial draft—created by the Darmstadt-based design agency “formsprache”—received positive feedback from our client, we decided to complete the project in time for the EMO 2015 show in Milan.
At the same time, we not only completely overhauled the equipment’s design but also decided to collaborate with “formsprache” at an early stage, translating this fresh design philosophy into our corporate logo, website, and exhibition booth—celebrating the company’s 30th anniversary and giving PVT a wholly new identity.
While staying true to the company’s original design philosophy, the new logo reinforces and supports this evolution. A suite of modern styles and design elements has been incorporated and highlighted. The new color palette—black/blue, blue/gray, and yellow—conveys the company’s robust dynamism.
